Qujiang New Area to Launch “Traveling Back to the Flourishing Tang Dynasty”Chinese New Year Cultural Festival
During the New Year's Day holiday in 2026, Qujiang New Area in Xi'an launched a Spring Festival-themed event called"Traveling Back to the Flourishing Tang Dynasty," inspired by initiatives such as the"Chang'an Lantern Festival." This initiative aims to support the construction of Xi'an as the"Capital of Tang Poetry," cultivate new consumption scenarios, and stimulate fresh consumer momentum, resulting in a significant increase in both passenger flow and sales volume.
The"2026 New Year's Day Travel Report" released by Trip.com Group shows that during the New Year's Day holiday, the top five popular local scenic spots in Xi'an were, in order: Emperor Qinshihuang’s Mausoleum Site Museum (Terra Cotta Warriors), the Shaanxi History Museum, the Xi'an City Wall, the Grand Tang Mall (also known as Grand Tang Ever-Bright City), and Huaqing Palace. Among these, both the Xi'an City Wall and the Grand Tang Mall are scenic spots operated by the Qujiang New Area.

During the New Year's Day holiday, the"Chang'an Lantern Festival" became a popular cultural and tourism event, achieving a"good start" for the year-round consumption growth. The current"Chang'an Lantern Festival" has, for the first time, advanced its opening to the New Year's Day holiday. It selects Tang Paradise and Xi'an City Wall as the two core venues and adopts a dual-line narrative along water and land routes, offering citizens and tourists a super-long event that runs from New Year's Day through the end of spring, creating an immersive atmosphere of the prosperous Tang Dynasty where"lanterns shine in the city and people stroll as if in a painting."

During the New Year's Day holiday, in the Grand Tang Mall, tourists dressed in various styles of Han Chinese clothing fluttered with their long sleeves, fully showcasing the charm of the Tang Dynasty. Guided by the consumption logic of"paying for emotional value", they have boosted the growth of emerging industries such as Hanfu rental and Tang - style makeup in Qujiang New Area.
The Chang'an Twelve Hours Theme Block, located near the Grand Tang Mall, effectively integrates the culture of the prosperous Tang Dynasty with modern consumption, creating new consumption scenarios. Tourists can not only enjoy Tang-style performances but also savor Xi'an's distinctive local cuisine, participate in interactive experiences, and feel the grandeur and prosperity of the Tang Dynasty.
With the increase in passenger flow, the sales of major commercial complexes in Qujiang New Area have also increased synchronously. According to statistics, during the New Year's Day holiday in 2026, the sales of commercial complexes in Qujiang New Area reached 135 million yuan, and the passenger flow reached 1.832 million person-times, with year-on-year increases of 34% and 38.7%, respectively.
